Filter mask respirators (FFR),sometimes called disposable respirators, are subject to various regulatory standards around the world. These standards specify certain physical and performance characteristics necessary for respirators to comply with specific standards. In a pandemic or emergency, health authorities often refer to these standards when recommending respirators, for example stating that some people should use “N95, KN95, FFP2 or equivalent” respirators. * N95 (American NIOSH-42CFR84 standard) * KN95 (China GB2626-2006 standard) * FFP2 (European EN 149-2001 standard) According to the comparison of relevant professional institutions, and according to the performance requirements specified in the relevant standards, after passing the qualification test, it can be proved that the functions of the respirators meeting the relevant standards are very similar. Based on this comparison, it is reasonable to think that Chinese KN95, European FFP2 FFR are the same as American NIOSH N95 respirators, and can be used to filter non-oil-based particles, such as particles produced by wildfire, PM 2.5 air pollution, volcanic eruption or bioaerosols (such virus).
